APRIL 22nd - 23rd
The Helix Recruiting Showcase LAN event kicked off on Friday, April 22nd and did not disappoint. We saw many Rocket League & Valorant teams compete across the day. Many players discussed collegiate opportunities with programs across the country, both in person and online via our platform.
The Competition ran across both days, with teams competing intensely throughout the tournament. Through comebacks, overtime matches and many colleges watching throughout, the players were eager to showcase their skillset to the recruiters watching, also in hopes of landing their portion of the $2,500 prize pool.
Overall, through many emotional moments, as players fought to win their championship matches, congrats to your champions, Rocket League: Ball Blasters, Valorant: ToozyVal. All competitors received the great opportunity to compete in front of multiple colleges, both in person and online to become seen to the world of collegiate esports scholarship opportunities.

Action kicked off at the Helix Recruiting Showcase on Friday, April 22nd featuring Valorant as the game of the day. We saw many teams arrive at Helix to compete live in person for a cash prize of $1,000 and the chance to qualify for the Stay Plugged In Recruiting Showcase at PAX East the following day. Here is how it unfolded: Picking up in the semifinals, we saw ToozyVal face off against the Knights in the match off stream. This match was handled quickly where ToozyVal took the game 13-3 with an outstanding performance from the player Toozy, class of 2022, with a 27/7/5 KDA to take the game MVP...

Day 2 of the Helix Recruiting Showcase saw many Rocket League teams arrive at the LAN, all with ambitions of grabbing the first place prize of $1,000. Gameplay started with a Round Robin format, where each team played each other once throughout the day with the top two teams at the end of the day to have a playoff match to decide winnings. Round 1 saw match score lines to all go to five games...

The experience was awesome getting to play on stage and just playing on the LAN setups next to the team is just really hype overall. It felt great to be competing on stage where there was a pretty big crowd of people watching. I had never experienced anything like that in gaming yet. The most memorable moment is probably lifting that check on stage.

The biggest benefit to being able to recruit live, in-person, here at the Helix Recruiting Showcase is that you get to see the kind of player they are, both inside and outside the game. Also, LAN brings more pressure and seeing them compete under that pressure is important to see as we look for future recruits. This is a huge opportunity for players to get face time with college coaches and for us to be able to provide more scholarship opportunities.
